On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the FIFA Best Football Awards 2025 were held at Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha, Qatar. Ballon d’Or Aitana Bonmati received the FIFA Best Women’s Player award. Joining her was also Ousmane Dembélé, another Ballon d’Or winner who was named FIFA Best Men’s Player. Meanwhile, Gianluigi Donnarumma was named Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper.

This annual event of FIFA recognises standout talents across the men’s and women’s game. This includes not just the players but also coaches, goalkeepers, fans and goal awards. The voting for these awards was done by the national team captains, national team coaches, media, and the fans. Their contribution is, however, only 25% in the result.
Aitana Bonmati bags another major title of 2025
Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati is the FIFA 2025 Best Women’s Player. The 27-year-old has won their third consecutive award, having previously won in 2023 and 2024.
Following her victory, Bonmati took to X and shared a heartfelt post with a small message along with some pictures that she shared from the event.
Her post read, “Nothing makes me prouder than being recognized by players, coaches, and fans for the third time in a row. Thank you @FIFAcom for this award. And thanks to my teams and to the people who support me along the way.”
Earlier, at the UEFA Women’s EURO, Bonmatí was named Player of the Tournament in July 2025. Following that, she received her Ballon d’Or award in September 2025. With the win, she joined Lionel Messi and Michel Platini to have three successive Ballon d’Or awards. She is also the first female player to achieve the hat-trick awards.
Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper: Hannah Hampton
England and Chelsea No.1 has been named Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper 2025. She is the second England player to win the title, after Mary Earps (won in 2022 and 2023).
Hampton played a key role in England’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 victory and led Chelsea to win three major national trophies in a single season.
FIFA Marta Award: Lizbeth Ovalle
Lizbeth Ovalle bagged the FIFA Marta Award for the goal of the year scored for Tigres against Guadalajara during Liga MX Femenil held in March. This award was only introduced last year after Brazilian star Marta took the title in the inaugural edition and was named after her. She was also a contender for this year’s award but Ovalle was successful.
