On Sunday, the Indian pair of Syndrela Das and Sarthak Arya won the U-19, while Vivaan Dave and Naisha Rewaskar bagged the U-15 mixed doubles titles at the 2nd WTT Youth Contender 2026 held at SAMA Indoor Sports Complex in Vadodara.

The Indian duo defeated top-seeded pair of Abhinandh Pradhivadhi and Ananya Muralidharan in straight sets by 11-3, 11-9, 11-3. Meanwhile, in the U-15 mixed doubles finals, the Indian duo of Vivaan and Naisha secured a comfortable win over Reyansh Jalan and Tanishka Kalbhairav, defeating them by 11-8, 11-8, 11-3.
Earlier in the semi-finals clash, Sarthak and Syndrela defeated Sahil Rawat and Hardee Patel by 11-6, 12-10, 5-11, 11-5 to take their spot in the finals. Meanwhile, Abhinandh and Ananya defeated Ritvik Gupta and Ahona Ray by 9-11, 14-12, 11-7, 11-8.
Besides Syndrela and Sarthak, Divija Paul and Dev Pranav Bhat were named the U-13 girls and boys’ singles champions, respectively. Divija earned her U-13 singles title in a hard-fought victory over Harshitha Nurani by 11-7, 7-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5, while Dev got success over Ashvajith Muthukumaran by 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4.
Syndrela Das won her second title of the tournament and is the U-19 girls’ singles defending champion. Earlier on Friday, January 2, 2026, Syndrela Das had won the U-17 singles titles finals match in the tournament. She defeated Hansini Mathan by sets of 11-3, 9-11, 11-9, 11-8. She, however, remains in contention for the U-19 singles crown this year. On the other hand, Divija Paul was crowned the U-13 girls champion after defeating Harshitha Nurani by 11-7, 7-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5.
The WTT Youth Contender in Vadodara, under the Sports Authority of Gujarat, saw over 226 players participate across age groups from U-11 to U-19. The Table Tennis Association of Baroda has organized this event, and it has been implemented by the Ultimate Table Tennis.
Ahead of the mixed doubles, the group-stage matches were done in multiple categories. In the girls U-11 category, Aadya Baheti and Anshika Gupta have booked their spots in the last four after finishing first in their group matches. Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-11 section, Rehansh Singhvi and Rajdeep Biswas have moved into the semifinals.
In October 2025, Syndrela, along with Divyanshi Bhowmick, was ranked No. 1 in the ITTF Under-19 Girls’ Doubles World Rankings with 3910 points. The duo were ahead of Chinese Taipei’s Wu Jia-En and Wu Ying-Syuan with 3195 and France’s Leana Hochart and Nina Guo Zheng (3170).
The Indian girls’ pair of Syndrela and Divyanshi has a series of achievements, including gold medals at the WTT Youth Contender in Goa and WTT Youth Star Contender in Tunis, along with a semifinal appearance in the WTT Youth Contender held in Berlin and Lima.
