Martina Devi Thokchom is a dynamic and versatile midfielder who currently plays for Sethu FC in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) and represents the India women’s national football team with distinction. Known for her height, physical presence, and technical intelligence, she combines vision, passing range, and defensive discipline, traits that make her one of the brightest young talents in Indian football.

Martina hails from Yourbung in Manipur, where football runs deep in her family. Her father, Thokchom Sanatomba, was a state-level footballer and played a crucial role in nurturing her early interest in the sport. Both parents encouraged her to pursue football, and she began formal training at just 10 years old in local grassroots programmes.

She later joined KRYHPSA Club, where she continued her development under coach Chaoba Devi, gaining vital technical and tactical skills that prepared her for higher levels of competitive football.

Playing for Sethu FC, Martina adds steel and creativity to the midfield and has even contributed to goal-scoring efforts, as demonstrated when she scored in the IWL 2025-26 match against Sesa FA, showcasing her attacking instincts.

Martina’s rise through India’s national setup began at youth levels. She represented India in the Under-17 Women’s Football Tournament in 2017, then featured in the U-17 Women’s Football Friendly Tournament in Mumbai in 2020, where India competed against Sweden. She received her first senior national team call-up in 2021 and made her senior India debut in a 4-1 win against UAE in a friendly. Since then, she has become a regular in national camps and featured in numerous friendlies, including matches against Jordan and Egypt.
