The FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup 2026 will take place in Poland. The event has been scheduled from 5th of September to September 27.

Indian referee Riiholang Dar has been selected as a match official for the upcoming FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup. This is the second time Dar has been selected to officiate at a FIFA World Cup. Riiholang also serves as a police officer in the Meghalaya police force.
Dar, who is from Meghalaya was first selected for the World Cup in 2024, where she was a part of the 38-member referee panel for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup that year. She became only the second woman after Uvena Fernandes to get an opportunity at the World Cup. Back in 2024 after she supervised the semi-final between England and Spain at the women’s U-17 World Cup, Riiholang said, “I am fortunate to have been able to offer a Diwali gift to Indian football in my small way.”
She is the recipient of the U Kiang Nangbah Award for sports as a recognition of her contributions to football. Riiholang is also the first recipient of the AIFF Best Female Assistant Referee during the 2024-25 season, as well as the first Indian official to feature in the AFC Women’s Champions League.
24 teams from six confederations will be a part of this U-20 World Cup. The first match will be held between Poland and Argentina.
