Arsenal have made their third summer signing after Georgia Stanway and Selina Cerci. Switzerland Midfielder Geraldine Reuteler has signed.
Reuteler, 27, is moving to Arsenal after eight years playing at Eintracht Frankfurt. It is understood that she agreed to a four-year deal and will be wearing jersey number 14.
The 27-year-old has spent eight years in the Frauen-Bundesliga and built an outstanding record for herself. Reuteler has made 184 appearances in all competitions, scored 54 goals and has 44 assists. Numbers like those speak about a midfielder’s ability to influence games.
Reuteler’s journey began at FC Stans before moving to FC Luzern, where she made her senior debut at just 15. Her development since then has been amazing; she joined Frankfurt in 2018. She received her first call-up to the Swiss senior team in 2017 and made her debut on June 10, coming on as a substitute for Martina Moser against England.
Reuteler was a key factor as Switzerland reached the Euro 2025 quarter-finals on home soil.
On joining Arsenal, Reuteler said: “Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world, and I’m so proud that I can be here. I love the way this team plays, and I can’t wait to test myself against the best players in the WSL (Women’s Super League). I want to add to the history and success of this football club, and I’m looking forward to walking out at Emirates Stadium in front of all our supporters.”
Manager Renee Slegers made clear why Arsenal pushed to get the deal done. “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring her to Arsenal. She’s a really technical, intelligent player and combines this with good athleticism, which we believe makes her a great addition to our midfield group.
I’m looking forward to starting to work together when pre-season begins.”
