WAFCON (Women’s Africa Cup of Nations) is a biennial international women’s football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), serving as the qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for African nations. The event is taking place from 26th July to 16th August 2026 in Morocco and features 16 teams for the first time, expanded from 12 in the previous editions.
African teams receive 4 direct qualification spots through the WAFCON, and up to 2 additional teams can qualify through the inter-confederation FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
