CD Tenerife Femenino is a Spanish women’s football club based on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
The club was founded in 2013 as UD Granadilla Tenerife Sur and started playing its first season in the second division. It was founded by Andrés Clavijo and Eduardo Chinea. Initially, the team was made up of players from CD Charco del Pino and several players from UD Tacuense.

In their debut in the Primera División, Granadilla had a great start by finishing 7th on the table. In June 2025, the club became the women’s section of Club Deportivo Tenerife, joining forces with the men’s team to represent the name and crest of the Tenerife team until 2032.
The team plays their home games at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium.
The club is called Las Guerreras, meaning the warriors, or in this case, ‘The Female Warriors’.
Debut in Spain’s Top-Tier Football Competition:
Tenerife’s debut in the Primera División (now Liga F) came in the 2015-16 season after their promotion to the league. Their league debut match happened to be against Barcelona.
First and Current Manager:
Andrés Clavijo was the first manager of the club since their establishment in 2013. Currently, Eder Maestre manages the club.
League Standing:
In the 2025/26 season, Tenerife finished 4th on the table out of the 16 teams.
Major Honours:
While CD Tenerife Femenino hasn’t won any formal major trophies, their best finishes came as semi-finalists in the Copa de la Reina in 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2026. Apart from this, they’ve won the Segunda División group title in 2013-14.
Famous Players:
Some of the most prominent players from the club are Patricia Gavira and María José Pérez.
Patricia Gavira is a long-time club icon who made more than 180 appearances for the club. While María José Pérez was a legendary goalscorer and a central figure during their club’s rise to top-flight status.
First Match of the Season:
CD Tenerife Femenino will open their 2026/27 Liga F season against defending champions Barcelona on Sunday, 30th August, 2026.
