Simranpreet Brar Clinches Gold, Equals Junior World Record at ISSF World Cup Final 2025

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, 21-year-old Indian shooter Simranpreet Kaur Brar ended her campaign at the ISSF World Cup Final 2025 in Doha, Qatar, with a gold medal victory in the women’s 25m sports pistol event. Besides the win, she has also equalled the Junior World Record of Yang Ji-In, the Paris Olympic Champion, with her 41 hits out of 50.

In the finals, she defeated China’s Qianxun Yao (with 36 hits) and Germany’s Doreen Vennekamp (with 30 hits) to bag the gold medal.

Meanwhile, another Indian prodigy, Esha Singh, finished in seventh position with 15 hits out of 25 shots.

On the other side, Asian Games champion Sift Kaur Samra missed her chance in the finals after finishing in No. 10 position in the women’s 50m 3P.

Aishwary Tomar wins silver

In the ISSF World Cup Final event, seasoned player Aiswary Pratap Singh Tomar got India its first-ever medal in rifle shooting. In the men’s 50m 3 Positions event, he ended his campaign with a silver medal after ending with a shot of 413.3.

The 50m 3P event has been newly introduced in the finals, which is similar to what the format is in the LA Olympics. In this event, there are only 40 shots performed by the shooter in the finals instead of 45, which was the case in the previous format. The division comes with 10 shots each in kneeling and prone positions, 20 shots in the standing position, and 10 standing shots for the elimination round.

The ISSF World Cup Final will conclude on December 8, 2025, with the Women’s and Men’s Skeet Final events and the Trap Women’s and Men’s Finals.

The event saw a 15-member team representing India, which was led by recent world Champion Samrat Rana and included top shooters like Suruchi Singh and Manu Bhaker.

The event hosts some of the best shooters who have performed brilliantly throughout the season. These shooters will compete in 12 individual Olympic categories, fighting to win the title of best shooter of the year.
