In the decider match, Shah and Chitale got the lead at 4-1 lead but things turned over with the opponents taking the win after scoring ten points in a row, resulting in 4-11. Earlier in the opening two games, the world No. 9 pair of Shah and Chitale conceded by scores of 7-11 and 3-11, respectively.

As they both thought that they could lose in straight games, they made an exceptional comeback through backhand play and smart serves and went on to win the next two matches by scores of 11-4 and 12-10, forcing their opponent to go into the decider.

So far, Shah and Chatale have lost both their Group 1 matches, because of which they currently sit at the bottom of the ranking table. However, only the top two teams from the table will qualify for the semi-finals. The Indian mixed doubles duo of Chitale-Shah have their only chance to win their final match scheduled against China’s Lin Shidong and Kuai Man. If they win, they have a chance to stay in the tournament.

In addition to that, they will also need the Chinese pair of Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha to defeat Wong and Doo in their final match.
