The World Table Tennis (WTT) Finals 2025 event didn’t result in favour of India’s mixed doubles duo of Manush Shah and Diya Chitale. The result could not end in their favour. The pair saw the end of their campaign after they were knocked out by three consecutive losses. On Friday, December 12, 2025, the world No. 9 duo lost their third match against China’s Lin Shidong and Kuai Mann in a 28-minute clash and finished in sets of 5-11, 11-7, 6-11, 6-11.

In order to stay in contention, the third match was a must-win for Shah and Chitale, which could have qualified them in the semi-finals, but instead got outplayed by the world No. 1 Chinese pair. Despite the loss, the Indian duo are the first to ever qualify in the WTT Finals.
On Wednesday, Shah and Chitale started their campaign with their first loss in the Group 1 clash against China’s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha by 0-3. In the second game that followed, the two showcased an improved performance by clashing against world No. 5 Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem. The two, however, went down by 2-3 in that match but had a 4-1 lead in the decider match.
In the Group 1 ranking, the Indian duo of Shah and Chitale finished at the bottom with zero victories in all three matches played in the tournament. Meanwhile, the top two pairs from the group have qualified for the semi-finals.
