On Friday, January 30, 2026, Haryana Thunders registered a hard-fought victory over Punjab Royals to secure their spot in the finale of the ongoing Pro Wrestling League. The Thunders defeated the Royals by 5-4, proving their mark as the table-toppers of the tournament with four wins and eight points. Meanwhile, the Royals finished fourth in the league stage and are out of contention. The other spot in the final will now be decided from another semi-final clash between Delhi Dangal Warriors and Maharashtra Kesari.

Impact Player of the Match was awarded to Parvinder, while Priya Malik was named Fighter of the Match in the women’s 76kg event. On the other hand, Iryna Koliadenko won the Player of the Match award in the 62kg contest. Despite early pressure from the Royals, Haryana pushed back hard from the second half and achieved the victory on their side.
Haryana Thunder’s performance
After going 0-2 over the Royals, Haryana responded through Parvinder in the 74kg men’s category. The wrestler was strong-headed against Chandermohan. In the Power Minute after the two ended in a tie at 8-8, Parvinder made a crucial takedown and a late push-out to win the round. The run continued in the 86kg men’s event, where Ashirov Ashraf secured a comfortable victory over Sandeep Maan by 5-1 through a timed takedown in the second half.
Haryana’s dominant performance continued with their first win of the women’s event. In the 62kg category, Paris Olympic silver medallist Iryna Koliadenko defeated Ana Godinez. Later in the semi-finals, Haryana’s Neha Sangwan outclassed Rajnita Jangra by 9–2.
Haryana took control ahead in the semi-finals. In the women’s 57kg contest, Sangwan dominated the opening period and pushed it through the Power Minute to earn a four-point takedown. With Sangwam’s win, Haryana’s lead went to 4–3. Continuing ahead with the 65kg men’s event next, this time it was World Championship silver medallist Tumur Ochir Tulga who edged past Anuj Kumar to secure the round by 2-1 and confirmed Haryana’s place in the final by adding the fifth win.
Punjab Royals performance
However, the Punjab Royals were the first to open the lead through Chirag Chhikara’s victory over Rohit in the 57kg men’s category. A takedown in the first period got the Punjabi wrestler the advantage over Rohit, and he went on to win the match by 2-1. The lead continued in the next match after captain Dinesh Dhankhar defeated Anurudh Gulia in the heavyweight category by a score of 8–6.
Other notable wins for the Royals came from Priya Malik in the 76kg women’s contest. The wrestler advanced over Kajal Dhochhak after securing the lead by 3-1. Meanwhile, the finals victory came from the 53kg women’s match between Yui Susaki and Meenakshi. The Punjabi won the round in a close battle by 5-4.
