Sevilla Fútbol Club Femenino is a Spanish women’s football team, affiliated with Sevilla FC.
In 2004, Sevilla FC was in collaboration with the local Superliga Femenina team CD Híspalis. Híspalis played for the next three seasons at Sevilla FC’s training facilities using its name, kit and badge. The team improved, and in 2006, they were the runners-up of the Superliga, losing to RCD Espanyol.
However, Híspalis declined as fast as they rose. In 2008, they ended up last on the table and were relegated. Due to the relegation, Sevilla FC ended their collaboration with CD Híspalis and created their own women’s team in 2008.
In 2009, their team reached Primera Nacional, as it was then known as Segunda División; however, they were promoted directly to the Superliga, as the RFEF decided to expand the category with women’s sections of clubs from the men’s leagues.

Their nicknames are Sevillistas,
Las Rojiblancas (Red-Whites), and
Las nervionenses.
Debut in Spain’s Top-Tier Football Competition:
Sevilla’s official debut in the Superliga Femenina (now Liga F) came in the 2009-10 season as a result of direct promotion due to RFEF’s decision to expand the category.
First and Current Manager:
When Sevilla FC Femenino was formally founded in 2009, the women’s section was managed by head coach María Pry, who was a former player. Currently, the club is coached by David Losada.
League Standing:
During the 2025/26 season, Sevilla finished eighth in the table, out of the 16 teams in the competition.
Major Honours:
Sevilla FC Femenino haven’t won any major titles yet; however, their best finishes came during the 2005-06 Superliga Femenina season, where they finished as runners-up. They were also the semi-finalists at the Copa de la Reina in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Famous Players:
The most prominent players from Sevilla FC Femenino are Auxiliadora Jiménez, Esther Sullastres, and Fatou Kanteh.
Jiménez, the Spanish striker, played for the club during their collaboration with CD Híspalis and won the Pichichi award as top scorer in the 2005–06 Superliga season. Sullastres is a veteran goalkeeper who has been an anchor for their defence.
Fatou Kanteh, the Gambian international, provides crucial pace and goalscoring power for the club.
First Match of the Season:
Sevilla FC Femenino will start their 2026/27 Liga F season with a match against Deportivo de La Coruña on 29th August, 2026.
