Sociedad Deportiva Eibar Femenino is a Spanish women’s football club based in Eibar, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country. It is the women’s section of SD Eibar.

In 1991, Eibar’s women’s team was founded as Eibartarrak Futbol Taldea. The team reached the Copa de la Reina final and won the Supercopa in 1999. In 2003, it adopted SD Eibar’s name (as Eibar-Eibartarrak) and kit, while remaining an independent club.

In 2009, it officially became a section of SD Eibar and was promoted to the Superliga following a reform of the competition. They were relegated two years later.

Eibar’s best result, which was considered the best for all teams attached to the club, came in 2017-18 when they finished 3rd in the second tier. During the 2019-20 season, Eibar was granted promotion to the Primera División as the team ranked second behind Athletic Club Femenino’s reserve team when the league was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club plays their home games at the Municipal de Ipurúa stadium.

The club’s nickname is Armagiñak.

Debut in Spain’s Top-Tier Football Competition:

The club’s first debut in División de Honor (now Liga F) was in the 1997-98 season as Eibartarrak FT. As SD Eibar, their debut came during the 2020-21 season as a result of direct promotion.

First and Current Manager:

Their first manager was Xuban Peña, who was appointed in 2017 when SD Eibar overhauled their women’s section to build a professional project so they could reach the elite tier. Currently, Iñaki Goikoetxea manages the team.

League Standing:

In the 2025/26 season, Eibar finished 13th on the table out of the 16 teams in the league.

Major Honours:

As Eibartarrak, the club has won the Supercopa de España in 1999 and the Copa Vasca in 1996 and 2002. While finishing as runners-up at the Copa de la Reina in 1999 and at the Liga Nacional in 2000-01.

As SD Eibar, they won the Basque Regional League (third tier) in 2014-15 and the Copa Vasca in 2006.

Famous Players:

Some of the most prominent players from the club are Jujuba Cardozo, Ane Campos, and Esperanza Pizarro.

Cardozo, the Brazilian international defender added experience to their backline during their initial 2020 top-flight return. Ane Campos, was a striker who played for the club from 2019 to 2025 during their top-flight transition, before moving on to Athletic Club.

Meanwhile, Pizarro the Uruguayan international emerged as a key attacking threat for the club.

First Match of the Season:

SD Eibar Femenino will play their first match of 2026/27 Liga F against RCD Espanyol Femeni on Saturday, 29th August, 2026.
