On January 31, World Archery, the official governing body of the sport, released the qualification process for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which is scheduled to be held from July from 14 to 30. A total of six events will be played under the archery sport, including recurve men’s individual and team, recurve women’s individual and team, recurve mixed, and compound mixed. The compound mixed team event will be a debut event of the Summer Games.

Meanwhile, a total of 128 quota spots, 64 each for men and women, will be available. In addition to this, eight of the quotas have been kept for the host country, while four have been kept for Universality places. In case of the recurve events, only six athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC), including three men and three women, are eligible for a quota only if a country is participating in the team event. In case they are going for the individual category, the quota will go to only one man and one woman. As for the compound mixed team event, only one team from the NOC can be sent.
Some NOCs can have quotas from both the World Championships and the Continental Games; in that case, the hierarchy for the qualification process and allocation of slots will be done from the highest to lowest priority. On the other hand, the United World Wrestling (UWW) and World Squash have also released their respective qualification process for the 2028 LA Olympics.
The squash event will have 16 each in men’s and women’s participants in each draw. The qualification will be done based on the world rankings, success at continental games, a universality place, a host country berth, and a spot for the final qualifying winner of the tournament.
Meanwhile, UWW released that only 16 wrestlers will qualify per weight class who will earn their spots from the four spots, including the World Championships, Continental Qualifiers, the World Olympic Qualifier, and the UWW Rankings.

Recurve men/women individual qualification: World Archery Championship.
Recurve men/women team qualification: World Archery Championship, Continental Championships for Europe, Asia and the Americas (CCs), Final World Recurve Team Qualification Tournament (FTQT).
Recurve mixed team qualification: Continental Games (CGs): Europe, Africa, Americas, Oceania and Asia.
Compound mixed team qualification: World Archery Championship, Continental Games (CGs): Europe, Africa, Americas, Oceania and Asia, Compound Mixed Team World Ranking List (TWRL), and Final World Compound Mixed Team Qualification Tournament (FTQT).
