The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has named the team for the Aichi-Nagoya Games. The selection was based on recent international and national performances, as well as the BWF rankings as of May 26, 2026.

Several youngsters who have performed well have been named in the squad. BWF World Junior Championships individual silver medalist Tanvi Sharma, team championships medalist Unnati Hooda, and Badminton Asia Championships silver medalist Ayush Shetty have been selected.
As for the seniors, two-time Asian Games medalist P.V. Sindhu, India’s men’s top-ranked Lakshya Sen, H.S. Prannoy, and defending champion pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have all been named in the squad.
The Asian Games will run from September 19th to October 4th in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
India has won 13 medals in badminton in the history of the Asian Games. The most medals India won came during the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games, where India secured 5 bronze medals. India has won only 1 gold medal in the Games, which was achieved by Satwik-Chirag in the men’s doubles during the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
