BWF World Championships 2026: India Squad, Schedule, Venue and Participants

The BWF World Championship is a badminton tournament organised by the Badminton World Federation. The competition offers the most ranking points and is the most prestigious tournament.

The tournament started in 1977 and was held once every three years until 1983. Since 1985, the tournament became biennial and played once every two years until 2005.

Starting in 2006, the tournament was changed to an annual tournament on the BWF calendar. The tournament is not held during the Summer Olympics years to avoid schedule conflicts.

The 2026 edition of the BWF World Championships will be held in New Delhi, India. It will take place from 17th August to 23 August, 2026 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India. It will be the 30th edition of the tournament, and India’s first time hosting it since 2009.

The 2025 edition was held in France from 25th August to 31st August and China was the top nation during the event. The winners of the 2025 Championships were:
