Indian women boxers continue to dominate at the 2026 Asian Boxing Championships. On Monday, April 6, Preeti Pawar, Priya and Arundhati Choudhary earned their respective spots in the finals in Ulaanbaatar. All three women boxers will now play their final campaign of the tournament.

In the 54kg category, Preeti gave one of the standout performances of the day. The Indian defeated Paris Olympics bronze medallist Aeji Im of Korea by a unanimous decision of 5-0. The Indian boxer had a controlled three-round game and played with precision to secure a gold medal for India. For her final campaign, she will next face Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao-wen, who is a multiple-time boxing world champion.

Meanwhile, in the 60kg division, Priya also secured a dominant win by 5-0 against Mongolia’s Namuun Monkhor to progress into the finals. She is set to take on North Korea’s Un Gyong Won in the title decider.

On the other hand, India’s Arundhati have an impressive campaign in the 70kg category. She secured the victory over Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova by 4-1 to book her spot in the finals. She will next meet Kazakhstan’s Bakyt Seidish for the finals match.

Other results of Indian Boxers

On one hand, where India secured three spots in the women’s singles boxing finals match, some had to exit from their campaign in the semifinals. Ankushita Boro lost her match to Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen in the 65kg category. She lost the match by 0-3 as the bout was decided on points due to a power outage that had intervened during the proceedings.

Meanwhile, in the 51kg semifinals, India’s Nikhat Zareen was clean-swept by 0-5 from China’s Olympic champion Wu Yu. Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) and Pooja Rani (80kg) also exited from their respective categories after resulting in unanimous decision losses.
