After losing their opening fixture against United Arab Emirates (UAE) Women, India-A Women’s team secured a dominant win in their second group stage match at the Women’s T20 Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 set against their arch rivals Pakistan A, held at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok. The Indian women’s team defeated them by eight wickets on Sunday, February 15. India’s Dinesh Vrinda was named Player of the Match for her 55* runs off 29 balls.

Winning the toss, Pakistan A decided to bat first, but the decision failed with the results the batting lineup brought in the first innings. Things started to drop after the team went to 21/4 in the power play and eventually ended up going all-out at 93 runs in 18.5 overs. In the absence of their young emerging star Nandni Sharma, India Women’s team bowling line-up was still strong and dominating.
Skipper Radha Yadav, Saima Thakor, and Prema Rawat secure two wickets each, while Jintimani Kalita, Minnu Mani, and Tanuja Kanwar add one each. The remaining two came from run-outs of Eman Naseer and Anosha Nasir.
Meanwhile, India had a loose start after they lost their opener Humaiza Kazi in the first ball, but the batters managed to complete the run chase pretty easily, finishing in 10.1 overs. A power-packed performance from star batter Vrinda led the team halfway, while Anushka Sharma (24 runs off 26) and Tejal Hasabnis (12* off 5) did the remaining part.
With the win, India A Women’s team has moved to second in the Group A points table with two points and a net run of 1.830. Pakistan A takes a spot below at No. 3, also with two points, followed by Nepal in fourth place. UAE Women’s team is the table toppers with four points and a net run rate of 0.611.
However, India A will play their next match with No. 4 Nepal in their final Group stage match scheduled on Tuesday, February 17. Only the top two teams from both Group A and B will qualify for the semi-finals. So far, all the teams from Group B have played one match in the tournament, from which Thailand and Bangladesh lead as the top two teams with two points each.
