On Monday, February 16, 2026, Bangladesh A Women’s team added their second consecutive win of the ongoing Asia Cup Rising Stars after defeating Thailand Women by three wickets. Both teams struggled in their respective batting line-ups, but the Bangladeshi bowlers had a convincing start that resulted in the team’s advantage. With the win, the team takes the top spot of the table rankings with four points and a net run rate of 0.148.

Thailand Women started the innings with batting after winning the toss; however, the line-up struggled to add adequate runs to the tally. After losing their opener, Arrikan Phuengkho (1 off 11), in the power play, Natthakan Chantham (24 off 34) and Nannapat Koncharoenkai (34 off 38) maintained the momentum with a decent partnership. However, skipper Naruemol Chaiwai (5 off 9) and Chanida Sutthiruang (2 off 4) exited early. Meanwhile, Phannita Maya (12 off 8) and Onnicha Kamchomphu (17 off 10) made small contributions.
Bangladesh Women showcased brilliant bowling while claiming nine wickets in total. Fahima Khatun and Shorifa Khatun picked up two each, while Fariha Trisna, Sanjida Akter Meghla, and Jannatul Ferdus took one each. Shamima Sultana’s fielding earned the team two run-outs, including those of Suleeporn Laomi and Sunida Chaturongrattana. After restricting Thailand Women to 103/9, it was time for the Bangladeshi batters to bring their A game and defeat the target score.
Despite some slip-ups, the batting line-up successfully completed the run chase. Sarmin Sultana (1 off 4) and Rubya Haider (1 off 3) were knocked off in the start. Only Shorifa Khatun and Jannatul Ferdus remained not-out at the end, finishing their innings at 104/7 with one ball remaining.
Thailand Women bowlers gave a hard-fought battle, claiming seven wickets in total. Thipatcha Putthawong took three wickets, Phannita Maya claimed two, while Sunida Chaturongrattana and Onnicha Kamchomphu picked up one each.
Both the Bangladesh and Thailand Women’s teams have one more match in Group B in the upcoming tournament. After the final group stage match, only teams will make it to the semi-finals scheduled on February 20.
