The German international Selina Cerci has signed with the WSL club Arsenal.

“I’m very excited to be here – it’s a big honour to play for Arsenal, and I can’t wait to start,” said Selina. “This is an opportunity to compete against and play alongside top players in one of the best leagues in the world. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and walking out at Emirates Stadium in front of all our supporters.”
She moved to Arsenal from the Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where Cerci played 47 matches and scored 37 goals. Selina will be wearing the number 29 jersey at Arsenal.
Selina was born in Kiel in May 2000 and developed her game with Holstein Kiel and Magdeburger FFC in Germany before joining Bayern Munich in 2017. She played for Bayern’s second team throughout the 2017/18 season and appeared in every game, scoring a commendable 15 goals in 22 matches.
In the summer of 2018, Cerci joined the Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and scored 19 goals in 29 appearances across two seasons before spending time at Turbine Potsdam and FC Koln.
In July 2024, she moved to Hoffenheim, scoring 16 league goals in her first season to become the Bundesliga’s joint top scorer. In the 2025/26 season, Cerci’s scoring brilliance continued as she scored another 16 goals and contributed 9 assists—which is the highest goal-contribution return of any player in the league.
Her international career began in February 2022, when she received a call-up for Germany and made her senior debut that same month against Spain. So far, Selina has made 20 appearances for Germany and scored five times. She was also a part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s European Championship in 2025.
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of Selina. She’s an instinctive goalscorer with a proven record in the Bundesliga, and we believe she’s in a strong position to transition to English football and Arsenal. We welcome her and her family to the club.”
Head Coach Renée Slegers said: “I’m so pleased that Selina will be joining our group. She has impressive goal-scoring numbers and brings good presence, physicality and forward intent. Combined with her strong work ethic, we feel these qualities make her a great addition to our squad.”
