Crystal Palace, in the Women’s Super League, has been newly promoted and announced the signing of striker Bethany England.

The club was relegated in April 2025, following a 7-1 defeat to West Ham United. Palace gained promotion after finishing runners-up in the second tier. Now, with their comeback, it’s clear they bounced back quickly.
Bethany England has joined Crystal Palace following the expiration of her contract with Tottenham. She will be with Crystal Palace for two years, with an option for a further 12 months.
England is highly experienced, having won multiple trophies with her previous club, Chelsea, and played a key role in Tottenham’s rise in the WSL. She was also a part of the Lionesses’ squad that won the Euro 2022 and finished runners-up in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
During her time with Chelsea, she won four WSL titles, two Women’s FA Cups and two Women’s League Cups during seven years.
In the 2019/20 season, she won the WSL Player of the Month award for her exceptional goal-scoring form.
“It feels great to sign for Crystal Palace. I’m very excited to be here, and I’m looking forward to meeting all the girls and getting started,” said England, who will wear the number nine shirt.
“Palace are an ambitious club. They’ve been in the WSL before, they’ve had two amazing promotions now, and I think you can see their investment in the women’s game.
“They’re really pushing to be among the best, and they’ve got amazing facilities. It’s a place where I hope that I can make a lot of good memories, score a lot of goals, and make some history for the football club.”
England has scored a total of 87 goals across her WSL career and is the all-time top scorer at Tottenham with 32 goals.
“We are absolutely delighted to have Bethany here at Palace,” said manager Jo Potter.
“She has scored goals wherever she has gone, and I am sure she will be crucial for us next season.”
