West Ham United Women Football Club is an English women’s football club affiliated with West Ham United. In 1991, Roger Morgan, the Football in the Community officer at West Ham United, floated the idea of forming a women’s section of the club. The first friendly match was held on 29th March, 1992, after several efforts; however, the match resulted in a defeat against Barnet Ladies. In 2018, it was announced that West Ham United Ladies had gained promotion to the WSL. Following that, they changed their name to West Ham United women’s team in July 2018.
