Diksha Dagar Finishes T-20 at Women’s NSW Open; Agathe Laisne Clinches LET Victory

India’s lone contingent Diksha Dagar finished in the top 20 at the Women’s NSW Open in Wollongong, Australia. On Sunday, March 1, she made a round of 68 for a T-20 finish to get an 8-under total of 276. She had earlier begun the week with a 6-over 77. Meanwhile, three Indians namely Hitaashee Bakshi, Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth missed their cut in the weather-hit event.

Agathe Laisne was named the Ladies European Tour (LET) winner in the final. The French golfer scored a 65 (-6) in the final round of 16-under par to defeat Thailand’s April Angurasaranee and Korean amateur Soomin Oh. In the first two opening rounds, she scored 72-67, followed by 64 (-7) in the third.

Laisne is a 2023 Epson Tour title winner with two victories in the LET Access Series (LETAS) in 2020. Her latest victory made her the second LET winner of 2026 after Charley Hull who was the winner of the PIF Saudi Ladies International event.

Diksha’s playing career

Started playing golf as a left-hander in 2012, Diksha was born with some hearing problems and was coached by her father Narinder Dagar who is a former scratch golfer and an army personnel. She has won two LET titles, the first was the 2019 Investec South African Women’s Open, and the second was the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open title in 2023.

Diksha made her LET debut in 2019 and won her fourth professional career LET title at the Investec South African Women’s Open held at the Westlake Golf Club in Cape Town. That year, she participated in 19 tournaments and finished No. 14 on the Order of Merit list.

The following year, she started the season with the Women’s NSW Open in which she finished in seventh place. She exited after the round of 74 and ended the season in 81st place on the Race to Costa del Sol.

In 2021, she participated in 12 LET events. At the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open and Gant Ladies Open, she finished in a T4 spot.

Diksha was part of the winning team, Team Cowan alongside Olivia Cowan and Sarina Schmidt at the Aramco Team Series in London. The golfer has also represented India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
