On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, India’s Aakriti Dahiya and Anjum Moudgil secured podium finishes in the women’s individual 50m rifle 3 positions event at the ongoing Asian Shooting Championships held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.

24-year-old Aakriti won silver with a total score of 354.2, while two-time Olympian Anjum finished with a bronze medal with 340.4. Kazakhstan’s Sofiya Shulzhenko was the gold medal winner after securing a world record score of 358.2.
For Aakriti, this was her first continental medal win in an individual event. Meanwhile, India’s Ashi Chouksey missed out on the podium after finishing in fourth position with a total of 330.9. Ashi had previously won a bronze medal in the women’s individual 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Games 2023.
Ahead of their individual prominence, the Indian trio of Anjum, Ashi and Aakriti in the qualified round scored a combined total of 1756-86x that got India a silver medal in the team event. It was the Kazakhstan team who got the gold with 1760-90x, while Japan ended in bronze with 1730-69x.
Competing for Ranking Points Only (RPO), India’s Vidarsa Vinod, with a total of 590-35x, topped the qualifying round. Meanwhile, Anjum finished in third with 587-30x, Ashi (586-32x) finished in fifth and Aakriti (583-24x) in seventh. Ayushi Podder, with a score of 582-20x, finished in ninth place.
A junior gold for Prachi Gaikwad
Meanwhile, India got success in the junior women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event through Prachi Gaikwad, who finished with a gold medal win. After ending in top spot in the qualification round with a score of 586, Gaikwad continued with another promising performance in the finals game to bag the gold medal with a score of 353.3. On the other hand, Anushka Thokur also made a podium finish after ending with a bronze medal with a score of 341.1.
After Tuesday’s brilliant victories secured by women shooters, India’s medal tally in senior events at the Asian Shooting Championship went to 18, including eight golds, six silvers and four bronzes. The Championship, which has been organised by the Asian Shooting Confederation, will conclude on February 13. The Championship features shooters from across 20 different countries competing for the titles.
