With the win, Das and Bhowmick will next face top seeded pair of NG Wing Lam and Wong Hoi Tung of Hong Kong in the clash of finals scheduled on Friday, February 6. The Indian pair’s campaign in the WTT feeder Cappadocia start was an interesting one as they made their entry into the tournament in the main draw event as wild cards.

Besides the doubles event, Bhowmick had lost her contention from the women’s singles after losing the match to Japan’s Rin Mende in the pre-quarterfinals. The Indian got defeated by the Japanese opponent in straight games by sets of 3-11, 9-11, 7-11.

Ahead of the semi-finals victory, the Indian duo of Syndrela and Divyanshi had an impressive quarter-final performance. The wild card entrants had edged past the South Korean pair of Park Gahyeon and Yoo Yerin, winning the match by 3-1 and by sets of 11-5, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5. The victory provided them with a much-needed start for their campaign ahead. Playing against the fast-paced Korean opponents, the Indian women’s double duo displayed tactical gameplay with clarity while following the opponent’s pace and counterattacking in control.
