25-year-old, Indian tennis star Vaidehi Chaudhary has finished strong to win the women’s singles title at the W35 Solapur 2025 Tennis Tournament in Maharashtra on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The sixth seeded defeated Japan’s Michika Ozeki of Japan in the finals match that lasted for 1 hour and 53 minutes by sets of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. The victory was Vaidehi’s fourth in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in the singles category. She won her first in the 2024 W35 Taipei Formosa Cup event in Chinese Taipei.

Vaidehi began her campaign in the tournament in the qualifier, Round of 32, where her first defeat came against Soha Sadiq by 6-1, 6-1. With the first set completed, she then moved on to the second round, where she was set up against Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 808-ranked Maria Kalyakina, whom she defeated 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.
Her dominant run continued in the quarterfinals match against World Junior No. 9 Ksenia Efremova of France. After the first-round loss to Efremova by 4-6, Vaidehi took the lead after winning the next set by 5-3. The round followed with another defeat by 3-5, but with the pressure building, the Indian star fought back and sealed the victory by 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The semi-final contest saw two Indians fighting for the final spot, in which Vaidehi stood out against national champion and eight seed Vaishnavi Adkar. Defeating Adkar by sets of 6-4, 5-0, 6-4, 6-2, Vaidehi secured her place in the final, while Ozeki defeated second seed Shrivalli Bhamidipati in her semi-final match.
India also achieved success in the doubles category after the pair of Ankita Raina and Vaishnavi Adkar clinched the women’s doubles title. In the final, the second seeded duo defeated the Indo-Russian pair of Zeel Desai and Elina Nepliy by sets of 4-6, 7-5, 10-6. For 21-year-old Vaishnavi, this was her first senior international title, while senior player Ankita earned her 33rd ITF doubles title.
The 2025 W35 Solapur Tennis Tournament was scheduled from December 22 to 28. Vaidehi’s victory in the event showcases her ability to compete against elite junior and senior-level talents of today.
Previously, in the 2025 ITF W35 Nonthaburi, Vaidehi, alongside Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, represented India in the doubles event. The third-seeded duo defeated the second-seeded Thailand-Japan pair of Kovapitukted and Naito in straight sets by 6-4, 6-3. The win showcased a strong partnership and skillset from the Indian duo of Chaudhari and Bhamidipaty on the international platform.
