Tanvi Sharma continues her brilliant run at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour. The 16-year-old has qualified for the semi-finals match of the Guwahati Masters Super100 Tournament on Friday, December 5, 2025. Tanvi defeated Tanya Hemanth in a two-game battle by sets of 21-17, 27-25.

The young Indian prodigy will play her semi-final match against Japan’s Hina AKechi. Tanvi has previously lost to Hina in the semi-finals match of the Syed Modi International. This time she will return to make a redemption of the loss against her.
Since the start, Tanvi held a strong fight and went on to win the opening game while maintaining her calm and composure and went ahead in the second game with a lead by 21-17. However, she was under pressure in the second game while chasing the win.
However, in the second game, she underwent a lot of pressure while chasing a big lead and saved 4 game points before winning the round by 27-25.
Indians dominate at Guwahati Masters
Meanwhile, another Indian named Asmita Chaliha has made it to the semi-finals match of the tournament. She won the quarterfinals game after defeating her fellow Anaupama Upadhyaya in a three-game contest by sets of 19-21, 21-6, 21-12. Asmita returned to competition two months ago after coming back from a long injury break.
On the other hand, Indian shuttlers Tushar Suveer, Mithun Manjunath and Sanskar Saraswat all ended their journey after reaching the last four in the men’s singles category.
Besides this, in the mixed doubles, the Indian duo of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Gadde have also qualified for the semi-finals in a straight-game victory against Bhavya and Vishakha by 21-8, 21-10.
The Guwahati Masters Super100 Tournament has been scheduled from December 2 to 7, 2025, at the Sarju Sarai Indoor Sports Complex in Guwahati, Assam, India, with a prize pool worth USD 110,000 (SGD 142,600 approx.).
The winners from the men’s and women’s singles categories will receive a prize of USD 8,250 and 5,500 BWF points. On the other hand, the winners of the men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles events will get USD 8,690 and 5,500 BWF points.
