India’s women’s 3×3 basketball team’s campaign at the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup ended on Thursday, April 2. The team failed to make the cut for the main draw in the group stage draw. The team has reached the main draw only three times in their last eight editions since the 2013 FIBA Asia Cup title.

India began the game with a narrow 13-16 defeat to Malaysia. The team had missed numerous chances, with only one player serving as the primary playmaker for the team and scoring more than five points.
Malaysia scored five two-pointers in the match which resulted in the match difference, while India ended with just three.
In the second game against Turkmenistan, India bounced back in the second game against Turkmenistan. The Indians secured a dominant win by 21-4. However, this wasn’t enough as Malaysia later defeated Turkmenistan in the final group game and the Indian team also had no chances to compete in Singapore.
A total of 22 men’s and 21 women’s teams are competing at the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026, which is being held from April 1 to 5 at The Kallang. The FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup returns for the fifth consecutive year in Singapore, while making the city a key host for 3×3 basketball events.
Over the Years in the women’s events, Australia have dominated with five titles and are playing the tournament as the defending champions. If they win they will add a program. Other top contenders include China, Mongolia, Japan, New Zealand and the Philippines.
