Smriti Mandhana Only Indian on TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in Sports List

The TIME 100 list is a list of the most influential people in the world. The categories are divided into Artists, Pioneers, Leaders, Titans, Icons, and Innovators. The list is created by the editors of Time Magazine.

The list is an annual occurrence which honours athletes, coaches, investors, and advocates who contribute towards the betterment of sports.

Smriti Mandhana, the Indian vice-captain, is the only Indian to be named in TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026 list. She has played more than 290 matches for India, since her international debut in 2013 and has scored more than 10,000 runs across formats. The left-handed batter has also captained her team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, to two titles in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Smriti was placed in the ‘Titans’ category of the list, alongside the likes of football star Erling Haaland, South African men’s cricket team captain Temba Bavuma, and others.

The list features other sports icons such as, tennis sensation, Carlos Alcaraz, 2026 Winter Olympics Star, Eileen Gu, football legend, Lionel Messi, etc.
