Mary Earps, the former England international who retired in 2025, will be returning to the Women’s Super League (WSL). She will be joining London City Lionesses from Paris Saint-Germain. She has a two-year deal with London City Lionesses.

Earps joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2024 after spending five years at Manchester United. Mary’s notable achievements at United include helping them win the 2024 FA Cup by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-0. She made 125 appearances for Manchester United.
Earps kept 12 clean sheets for Paris Saint-Germain this season, as they finished third this season 13 points behind the champions, Lyon.
She was an important figure in England’s win in the 2022 European Championship, as well as being an integral part of the English squad as they made the 2023 World Cup final.
Earps has earned several individual accolades:
• Best FIFA Goalkeeper: 2022, 2023
• Women’s Super League Golden Glove: 2022-23
• FIFA Women’s World Cup Golden Glove: 2023
• BBC Sports Personality of the Year/BBC
• Women’s Footballer of the Year: 2023
During the 2023 World Cup, Earps was critical of Nike, as they refused to sell goalkeeper shirts for the women’s teams they supplied to.
On joining the London City Lionesses, Mary stated, “I feel the club aligns with what I stand for. I can’t wait to get started and to get down to business. The club’s values represent what I want to represent and they are passionate about what I want to achieve. All the conversations have been really positive and every time I spoke with the club I wanted to hear more.”
“The vision and ambition, including the new training facility, is incredible and I’m looking forward to seeing that develop. It shows what our owner Michele [Kang] and everyone at the club wants to do in terms of really going for it. It’s about putting a marker down and saying we want to be competitive in a short space of time.”
