Charlton Athletic Women’s Football Club is an English professional women’s club based in Charlton, south-east London. It was founded in 1991 as Bromley Borough and was formerly known as Croydon Women’s F.C. from 1994–2000 before being taken over by Charlton Athletic in 2000. In the early to mid-2000s, the team was considered part of the “top three” in English women’s football, alongside Arsenal and Fulham.
