1. Fußball- und Sport-Verein Mainz 05 e.V., commonly known as 1. FSV Mainz 05 is a women’s association football club based in Mainz, Germany, and part of the 1. FSV Mainz 05 Club.
The club was founded in 2022, when FSV Mainz and TSV Schott Mainz decided to collaborate to develop girls’ and women’s football. As a result of this partnership, TSV Schott Mainz integrated into Mainz 05’s environment starting from the 2023-24 season.
In the inaugural season, the team secured first place in the Regionalliga Südwest but lost to VfL Bochum with a 6–3 aggregate score in the 2. Bundesliga promotion play-off final. Initially, the club utilised TSV Schott Mainz’ facilities before they moved to the Bruchweg Stadium at the start of the 2024-25 season.
In May 2025, the club secured promotion to the 2. Bundesliga after winning the 2024–25 Frauen-Regionalliga Südwest, having lost only 2 games. The team’s defence was the best, with Nadine Anstatt being the league’s top scorer with 33 goals.
In May 2026, the club earned their first promotion to the Bundesliga as runners-up after a 5-0 win over FC Ingolstadt on the final matchday.
