At the Macau Open Super 300 badminton tournament, eighth seed Anmol Kharb defeated Indonesia’s Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari in 42 minutes. She won in straight sets, 21-13 and 21-16, and advanced to the Round of 16. The 19-year-old is coming off a quarter-final exit at the Denmark Challenge. Anmol will next face Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei.

World No. 53 Rakshitha Sree Ramraj defeated Malaysia’s Kisona Selvaduray in sets of 21-16, 24-22. Ramraj handed the defeat to Selvaduray in 46 minutes. Her next challenge is against South Korea’s Kim Min Sun in the pre-quarterfinals.
Shriyanshi Valishetty, the seventh seed, won against Tansim Mir, in sets of 21-18, 19-21, 21-15 in a gruelling 56-minute match.
While these three progressed forward to the pre-quarterfinals, two shuttlers exited the tournament. Shreya Lele was defeated by the fourth seed, Han Qian Xi, of China. The match ended with scores of 12-21, 15-21 over 34 minutes. Aakarshi Kashyap lost despite a good fight against Kim Min Ji from South Korea. Aakarshi levelled the game before losing in sets of 17-21, 21-18, 17-21 within one hour and nine minutes.
The mixed doubles weren’t entirely smooth sailing for India. Ishaan Bhatnagar and Shruti Mishra won against Germany’s Calvin Devereux and Desiree Toepffer in sets of 21-4, 21-6. Ishaan and Shruti needed only 16 minutes to do so, and advance to the pre-quarterfinals where they will face the Chinese pair, Li Hong Yi and Huang Ke Xin.
Mohit Jaglan and Lakshita Jaglan lost 9-21 and 12-21 to Low Han Chen and Chan Wen Tse from Malaysia. Manisha K and Dhruv Rawat, the eighth seeds, also suffered a defeat against South Korea’s Song Hyun Cho and Jeong Na Eun in sets of 22-24 and 18-21. Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma lost in sets of 10-21 and 19-21 to Thailand’s Supak Jomkoh and Ornnicha Jongsathapornparn.
