India women’s cricket team batter Shafali Verma has been named in the nominations of the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for November 2025.

Alongside her, United Arab Emirates’ Esha Oza and Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong are also nominees for the monthly honour. Both were standout performers from the recently concluded ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2025.
Shafali was an injury replacement addition to the India squad during the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 knockouts, replacing Pratika Rawal who sustained an injury during a match. The opening batter joined the squad for the semi-finals match against Australia Women. In that match, she, however, scored just 10 runs. It was in the finals that she stood out and was adjourned player of the match for her all-rounder performance.
In the 2025 World Cup final against South Africa Women, Shafali scored 87 runs off 78 balls in the first innings contributing to India’s target score of 298/7. Her dominance continued in the second innings, where she successfully picked up two key wickets of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp.
Meanwhile, the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2025 held in Bangkok gave away two top nominees. In the tournament, UAE captain Oza finished seven innings with a score of 187 runs at a strike rate of 137.50 and picked up seven wickets. Her performance got her the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
On the other hand, Thailand’s Putthawong was the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets. In the last league game, she picked up four-wickets to lead Thailand towards victory against Scotland, helping her team edge UAE to finish as table toppers and get both hands on the trophy.
The winner from the nominees will be determined by an ICC panel of ex-players and journalists, with fans worldwide having a 10% say to the final rating. Fans will have access to open voting available on the ICC website.
