India Women Name White-Ball Squads for Australia Tour 2026; Vaishnavi, Kamalini Earn Call-Ups

India Women’s team has announced the T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming Australia tour scheduled in February 2026. India will begin the tour with the three-match T20I series in Sydney, scheduled on February 15, followed by the ODI series set to begin from February 24. Harmanpreet Kaur has been named captain for both squads, while Smriti Mandhana will be working alongside as Vice-Captain. The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup Champions will aim to defeat Australia and claim their first-ever series win in the white-ball cricket format.

The Indian squad has three new additions, including Vaishnavi Sharma, G Kamalini, and Kashvee Gautam, while names like Uma Chetry, Yastika Bhatia, and Pratika Rawal have been missed out this time. Both Vaishnavi and Kamalini have received their maiden T20I call for the senior team in the recently concluded five-match WT20I series against Sri Lanka. India Women won the series in a clean sweep by 5-0.

In that series, Vaishnavi gained attention for her bowling skills after finishing in the number one rank alongside her senior, Deepti Sharma, with five wickets at an average of 23.80. Meanwhile, Kamalini appeared in the final match of the series while opening the batting lineup for the team alongside Shafali Verma. In that single match, she scored 12 runs at a strike rate of 100.00.

Kashvee is yet to make her WT20I debut. The right-hand batter made her WODI debut during the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Series in May 2025. In three WODIs played, she scored 98 runs at a strike rate of 129.41. Both Kashvee and Kamalini are currently busy with the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2026. Kashvee is playing for Gujarat Giants, while Kamalini is representing the Mumbai Indians.

Meanwhile, the T20I squad has made some changes with Shreyanka Patil replacing Harleen Deol. Bharati Fulmali is making her return to the squad, having last featured in the team back in 2019.
