On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the India Open 750 semi-finals, An Se Young and Zhi Yi Wang secured their spot in the women’s final after winning their respective matches. Korea’s Young defeated Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon in a comfortable win by sets of 21-11, 21-7. With the win, Young has extended her winning streak against Intanon to 13 matches. Meanwhile, Wang defeated her counterpart Chen Yu Fei of China by sets of 21-15, 23-21.

Young will look to add another win against Wang when the two face each other in the India Open 2026 women’s singles finals and will try her best to defend her title.
In the opening game, Young took a dominating 6-0 lead over Intanon, who had to work harder before finding her way into the score. But the second game saw a turn of events with Intanon going head-to-head against Young, but failed to continue much further and started to fail against the Korean star.
Besides the singles match, the women’s doubles event was dominated by Japan and China. In the first match, Japan’s Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto defeated World Championship silver medalists and World No. 2 Malaysian pair Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan by sets of 21-16, 21-13. On the other side, China’s duo of Sheng Shu Liu and Ning Tan knocked out Korea’s Ha Na Baek and So Hee Lee by 21-12, 17-21, 21-14.
Meanwhile, the men’s event saw some great performances by Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie and Taiwan’s Lin Chun-Yi. World No. 4 Christie defeated Loh Kean Yew of Singapore by sets of 21-18, 22-20. In the opening game, Christie made his way back from 11-5 to 17-16 and had a controlling performance throughout the match to win the game. While Chun-Yi claimed a hard-fought win over Canada’s Victor Lai by 21-9, 6-21, 22-20.
