England Women have set their sights on global glory, unveiling a balanced 15-player squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played on home soil. With expectations rising and interest in women’s cricket continuing to surge, the squad reflects both experience and fresh energy as England aim to reclaim the title they last won in 2009.

At the forefront is Nat Sciver-Brunt, who will captain the side in what will be her seventh appearance at a T20 World Cup. A proven match-winner and one of the most consistent all-rounders in the modern game, Sciver-Brunt carries both leadership responsibility and the hopes of a nation eager to witness another historic campaign.

One of the most notable inclusions is 18-year-old spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman, who earns her first call-up to a World Cup squad. She is joined by fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer, both of whom will also feature in a T20 World Cup for the first time. Their selection highlights England’s intent to invest in young talent capable of performing on the biggest stage.

Experienced campaigner Danni Wyatt-Hodge is set to play in her eighth T20 World Cup, bringing invaluable experience to the batting unit. Meanwhile, all-rounder Charlie Dean has been named vice-captain, underlining her growing influence within the team. The bowling attack will be spearheaded by Lauren Bell, whose pace and consistency make her a key asset in English conditions.

Head Coach Charlotte Edwards, who famously led England to their T20 World Cup triumph in 2009, now returns in a different role with a chance to guide a new generation to success. With over 960 caps of T20 International experience across the squad, England possess a strong blend of youth and proven performers.

Charlotte Edwards said: “The waiting and wondering is over, we have named our ICC Women’s T20 World Cup squad and there is no doubt that it has been incredibly tough to get to these 15 names.

“This is the hardest set of selection meetings I have been a part of because the pool of players to choose from is so strong and so many talented players have put their hand up to be a part of the squad, which is exactly what we want. That is the nature of world-class sport, and it is a privilege we don’t take lightly to be able to make these difficult decisions.

“An ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on home soil is a special moment for the game in this country, and we are all really motivated by what could be ahead for this group of players and what they can achieve this summer.”

Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt added: “It is a huge honour to be leading England into a T20 World Cup at home in front of family and friends and all our passionate supporters. We have all been looking forward to this summer and this tournament for some time now and the naming of the squad means it is almost here and we can’t wait to get out onto the field and give it everything to win this World Cup again. I know how much winning in 2009 meant to the players and to Charlotte Edwards as captain, and being in the team under Heather Knight’s leadership for the 2017 ODI World Cup win was incredibly special.”

“Now the aim is to do something similar with this fantastic group of players who I know are putting their heart and soul into achieving our goal, and that hard work will continue right throughout the summer as we start with games against New Zealand and India before that tournament begins.”

England will fine-tune preparations with white-ball series against New Zealand and India, building momentum ahead of the tournament opener at Edgbaston. With home advantage, depth in the squad, and rising global attention on women’s cricket, England entered the competition as strong contenders to lift the trophy once again.
