How do the Playoffs Work?
The Hundred follows a 3-team knockout system:
1st Place – Automatically advances to the final
2nd and 3rd Place – Advance to the Eliminator match
Winner of the Eliminator: Advances to face the 1st-place team in the finalHow Many Matches have to be won to stand a Chance?
Since each team plays a total of 8 group stage matches, 5 wins or 10 points guarantee a playoff or a final spot depending on the standings in the top 3.
While 4 wins or 8 points also give a good chance of securing the 2nd or the 3rd spot. However, it depends on the Net Run Rate if multiple teams are tied at 4 wins.
Based on the current standings, Southern Brave are already locked into the playoffs. With only two matches left, they are most likely to advance to the final directly.
Trent Rockets are the second favourites to advance to the playoffs; they just need one more win or favourable results elsewhere to officially secure a top-3 place.
Manchester Super Giants are in third position with 14 points, and possess a strong advantage over the remaining teams and control their own fate in the remaining two matches.
However, Welsh Fire are chasing the third spot; they have 12 points to their name, and if they win their remaining two fixtures, it could push them into the top 3 if Manchester stumbles.
Sunrisers Leeds must win all of their remaining fixtures and will have to rely on major collapses from teams above them if they want to make it to the playoffs.
Speaking of the other three teams, their pathway to the top 3 is as good as over considering their net run rates and realistic mathematical pathways.
Top Three:
Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, and Manchester Super Giants are the ones likely to take the three spots, with Welsh Fire being the only realistic dark horse.
