The wedding ceremony of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal has been postponed due to a sudden family emergency in the cricketer’s household. According to a statement by Smriti’s manager, her father, Srinivas Mandhana, experienced heart attack-like symptoms while preparing for the wedding ceremony that was supposed to be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Smriti and her family immediately rushed to the hospital after hearing the news. The couple and their families have, however, requested privacy during this time.

Informing the media about the news and updates on Mandhana’s father’s condition, the statement made by the manager read, “In the morning when he was having breakfast, Smriti Mandana’s father, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana, got unwell. We waited for a while. We thought that maybe it’s normal, he will be fine. But he was getting worse. So we thought, let’s not take any risk, so we called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. Now he is under observation.”
The manager further revealed that the wedding preparations that were underway at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli, have now been called off until further notice. Meanwhile, the decorations will be removed from the venue for which the work is currently ongoing.
He also added, “You know Smriti is very close to her father. She decided that until her father gets well, this marriage, which was supposed to happen today, is indefinitely postponed. Now he is under observation, and the doctor has said that he will have to stay in the hospital. And until he gets well, because we are also in shock, and we want him to recover soon.”
The couple was expected to tie the knot on Sunday in the presence of all the family members from both the groom’s and bride’s sides. Some of Mandhana’s teammates from the India Women’s cricket team will be present.
Over the past few days, social media has been abuzz with pictures and videos from the pre-wedding ceremonies of Mandhana and Palaash. India’s women’s cricket team have been spotted enjoying all the ceremonies as Mandhana’s official bride squad. The team recently made their country proud after winning the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 title.
However, fans now have to wait for the wedding snippets, with the ceremony currently postponed now. Meanwhile, Mr. Mandhana’s health condition is currently reported as stable and will be kept under observation.
