Sport-Club Freiburg Frauen & Mädchen is a German women’s association football team based in Freiburg. The team was founded in 1975 as a section of SC Freiburg, while the club itself was founded in 1904.
In 1985, the club was dissolved and later refounded in 1991. In 1998, the club achieved their very first promotion to the Frauen-Bundesliga even though they were relegated the next season.
The club returned to the Frauen-Bundesliga in 2001 and stayed there for nearly a decade before getting relegated again in 2010. However, after the relegation in 2010, they won immediate promotion back after winning the 2. Bundesliga South title and have remained in the top division ever since.
Freiburg’s highest finish in the Frauen-Bundesliga came in the 2017-18 season, when they finished 4th in the table. The club plays their home games at the Dreisam Stadium, and its nicknames are Der Sport-Club and SC.

SC Freiburg Frauen haven’t won any major titles yet; however, their best performances include a 4th-place finish in the table in the 2017-18 season and reaching the DFB-POKAL final for the first time ever in 2023, where they lost 4-1 to VfL Wolfsburg.
