Aditi Ashok Top Indian at T-58 After Round 1 of LPGA Aramco Championship 2026

Indian player makes prominence at the Aramco Championship 2026. Aditi Ashok is now the top-placed Indian to secure her place in the Tied-58th spot. The ranking comes following her second-round victory in the golf tournament in Las Vegas. In that round she carded a 2-over 72. Aditi makes the projected cut of 2-over par that now keeps her safe.

Aditi is a five-time LET winner, including achievements in the Hero Women’s Indian Open, where she carded 1-under 71 to make her entry in the top 15 of the leaderboard. In addition to Aditi, there are two other Indians who have also made the cut at the Aramco Championship. With a score of 7-over par both Pranavi (76-75) and Avani (75-76) are both placed in T-59 on the leaderboard.

On the other hand, India’s Diksha Dagar was unable to make the cut after ending with a difficult second round. In that game she carded six-over 78 for a total of nine-over par. On the first, she had shot three-over 75.

Earlier in the first round, Avani, Diksha and Pranavi were below in the rankings. Both Avani and Diksha after carding rounds of 3-over 75 got placed in T-71, while Pranavi carded 4-over 76 to get in T-90. The top three players of the first round were Japan’s Miyu Yamashita and Nasa Hataoka, and America’s Lauren Coughlin. All three of them had carded 5-under 67.

Who is Aditi Ashok?

28-year-old Aditi is a trailblazer in the women’s golf scene in India today. She had started her professional career in 2016 and since then has several accolades to her name. She won a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Games, several Ladies European Tour titles and has been a regular participant of the Ladies Professional Golf Tour (LPGA).

She won her first state-level titles at the 2011 Karnataka Junior and South Indian Junior Championships as a 13-year-old golf player. The same year she also won the national amateur title. The teenager is also a three-time National Junior Championship (2012-2014).

In 2017, she became the first woman to represent India at the LPGA Tour. Later in 2023 she became the first women golfer from India to win the Asian Games title. The same year she won her fourth LET title at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open.
