Ranchi Royals have finished their Women’s Hero India League (HIL) 2025-26 campaign with style. The team finished in third place after defeating SG Pipers by 5-2 in their last encounter. Lucina von der Heyde and Hannah Cotter scored two goals each, while Sangita Kumari scored one for the Royals. Navneet Kaur got two goals for the SG Pipers.

In the opening minute of the game, SG Pipers gained control and got themselves a penalty corner. Lucina von der Heyde made no mistake in converting the drag-flick into a goal and gave Royals the lead at 1-0. Soon after, SG Pipers struck back with captain Navneet Kaur finding the back of the net by giving them the equaliser.
The second quarter saw both teams with early attacks. The Royals set the pressure through circle penetrations and got themselves another goal through Sangita Kumari, who restored the lead. SG Pipers failed to add another by ending the second quarter at 1-2.
Proceeding towards the third quarter, the Royals dominated the midfield and were cautious in their attempt. They got several chances to secure their third but were unable to convert despite earning penalty corners. Meanwhile, SG Pipers responded by pushing the Royals’ defence but failed to get anything. However, no goals were scored by either of the teams.
The Royals once again took charge in the fourth quarter of the match after Heyde struck a penalty corner to get her second goal and give the Royals their third score of the match. The run continued with Hannah Cotter adding two more goals on the Royals’ scoreboard, putting the Pipers under pressure. Navneet added the second for Pipers, but no time was left for them to add any more. With five goals, the Royals sealed the victory by 5-2 victory. They finished in third place in the league.
