On Sunday, April 5, the Pro Women’s Singles title decider was played at the Indian Open 2026 tournament. Aaliya Ebrahim emerged as the winner of the match held at CrossCourts in Hyderabad. The PWR 1000 tournament was sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) and organised by Global Sports Tournament. The event featured over 1,100 players across 54 categories.

The finals were a close one as Aaliya got the edge over Snehal Patil by sets of 11-10, 11-9. Both players pushed each other throughout the game with the momentum shifting at times. Aaliya proved to be a great performer while showcasing her ability to handle the pressure well to seal it in the win.

The opening game saw Aaliya taking early control before leading to a four-point lead showcasing her strong baseline play and minute placement. Both players relied on deep rallies. Aaliya’s backhand drive from down the line was the key move that helped her a great deal in extending the lead. Meanwhile, Patil responded and went close enough to get a 3-4 score. Aaliya took back the lead by 7-3 leading to a timeout.
After the break, Snehal entered with a different approach. This time she worked her way back and added three points to get to 6-8 and soon enough levelled the match at 8-8. Aaliya held her nerve to close out the first game by 11-10.
The second game ended the same way with Aaliya starting strong. She took the lead early and forced Patil for a timeout. Patil responded by scoring back-to-back points to level the score at 7-7. Both players were in control and patient. After going tied for 9-9, Aaliya stepped up and went on to secure consecutive points to close out the match at 11-9.
Earlier in the semifinals, Aaliya had defeated Shreya Chakraborty by sets of 11-6, 11-4, while Snehal edged past Khushi Desai. Both players showcased their consistency throughout the tournament.
Praising her opponent in the post-match interview, Aaliya said, “Snehal has been phenomenal and I knew it was going to be a tough match. I know she can come in anytime and level it up and I am always prepared to play one of my best matches against her.”
