The 2026 calendar for the women’s sports is jam packed with multiple tournaments. A detailed list of the events has been discussed below.

1. Indian Women’s League (IWL)
India is host to the ongoing Indian Women’s League for the 2025-26 season, which includes the top eight national women’s football clubs competing for the title. The league includes defending champions East Bengal FC, who have already started their campaign with their first victory against Sethu FC. All the matches of the tournament will be available on live streaming in India. The league will be done in two phases. The first phase has already begun on December 20, 2025, and will continue until January 9, 2026. Meanwhile, the second phase will be held from April 20 to May 10.
2. SAFF Women’s futsal Championship
The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF), for the very first time, is hosting the SAFF Futsal Championship, catering to both men and women players. The championship will be held from January 13 to 26, 2026, with Thailand as the host of the event. The championship is committed to promoting and strengthening football in South Asia.
3. National Indoor Athletics Championship
The 1st National Indoor Athletics Championships will be held in Bhubaneswar Indoor Stadium and is scheduled to be held on March 24 and 25, 2026. The event will be followed with the World Athletics meet, which is a Continental Tour Silver Level scheduled for August 22.
4. Women’s Premier League
The 4th Women’s Premier League (WPL) is a tournament showcasing the ace female cricketers competing across five teams including Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), and UP Warriorz (UPW) competing for the title. A total of 22 matches will be played across two venues, including the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai and the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. The first 11 fixtures will be played in DY Patil, and the remaining 11, including the playoffs in Vadodara. The Eliminator match will be played on February 3, while the finals are scheduled on February 5. Two-time champions Mumbai Indians will play the opening fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Navi Mumbai.
5. India Open
The India Open, one of India’s premier international competitions, is a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 750-level event of the sport. The tournament is scheduled to be held from January 13 to 18, 2026, at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi.
6. India Women tour of Australia
The Women in Blue will tour Australia for a multi-format series against its women’s national cricket team scheduled from February 15 to March 9. The series begins with the three-match WT20Is from February 15 to 21, followed by the WODIs from February 24 to March 1, and finally concluding with a Day-Night Test from March 6 to 9.
7. ITTF World team Table Tennis Championships
The 2026 edition of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World team Table Tennis Championships returns to its roots as the event returns to England since its inaugural season in 1926. The Championship will feature 64 teams each in men’s and women’s competing for 13 days from April 28 to May 10 in London.
8. AFC Women’s Asian Cup
The 21st edition of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup will take place from March 1 to 21, 2026, across five different venues, including Perth, Sydney, and the Gold Coast in Australia. The tournament has three group divisions, including Group A comprising Australia, Korea Republic, Iran, Philippines, Group B including North Korea, China, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, and finally Group C that includes Japan, Vietnam, India, and Chinese Taipei.
9. Women’s Hockey world cup qualifier
The Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) has announced Hyderabad and Chile as hosts to the Women’s Hockey World Cup qualifiers. Chile will host the event from March 1 to 8, followed by Hyderabad from March 8 to 14, 2026. The eight teams include India, England, Scotland, Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria. The top three teams from this event will then qualify for the World Cup to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.
10. All England Open
The YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships is scheduled to be held from March 3 to 8, 2026, at the Utilita Arena Birmingham. The tournament is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious badminton tournaments. The six-day event will see over 155 live badminton matches.
11. FIBA 3×3 Women’s Asia Cup
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3×3 Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled from March 26 to 30, 2026, followed by the World Cup Qualifiers in April 2026.
12. Asia Rugby Women’s Championship
The event details are yet to be announced.
13. World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series
The HSBC World Rugby sevens challenger series has confirmed Singapore (31 January-1 February, 2026), Australia (7-8 February, 2026), Vancouver (7-8 March, 2026), USA (14-15 March, 2026) as hosts. The women’s teams include Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, USA.
14. Asian Wrestling Championships
The Asian Wrestling Championship is scheduled to take place from April 6 to 12, 2026, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
