Rybakina dominated the first set but then went restricted until the third set point on Muchova’s serve, to win it. She won the set by seven games in a row. The Kazakhstani then went for a 5-0 lead in the second set, while Muchova struggled on her serve. The win gave Rybakina her 13th title of her career.

Last month Rybakina finished as runner-up at the Indian Wells event. This was her second Stuttgart win having previously won in 2024. The Stuttgart 2026 champion was also presented with a coveted Porsche sports medal on winning the finals.

In their previous meeting, Muchova was leading Rybakina by 2-1 including their hard court battle in the Brisbane event in January 2026. Meanwhile, the Kazakhstani who defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the 2026 Australia Open had dropped by only one set. Her crucial win of the tournament came against World No. 6 Mirra Andreeva whom she defeated on Saturday, April 19.

Muchova is the 2023 Roland Garros runner-up and was playing her first 500-level final in her career. Earlier in the quarterfinals, the 29-year-old succeeded over French Open champion Coco Gauff by three sets. She, however, failed to edge past two-time Grand Slam winner Rybakina.
