India women’s wrestler Rachna has registered a win in the girls’ 43kg category after claiming a commanding victory over Kazakhstan’s Inzhu Bakkozha by 11-0. The win got her a bronze medal at the Asian Youth Games 2025. Another bronze medal was added by Indian wrestler Komal Verma, a U17 world bronze medallist, who won against China’s Mo Xiaoqing in the girls’ 49kg division by 3-1.

India’s first wrestling medal was won by Yashita, who defeated Kazakhstan’s Zhaidar Mukat in the finals game of the girls’ 61kg division to bag the gold medal. On October 28, Moni brought home a gold medal in the girls’ 57kg division through a commanding victory over Kyrgyzstan’s Sezim Kurmanbekovna Zholdoshbekova by 10-0. In the girls’ 69kg category, Ashvini Vishnoi brought a bronze medal after winning her finals game against China’s Zhao Min by 10-3.
Overall, India’s women wrestlers have contributed significantly to the country’s success at the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
India’s medal tally at the Asian Youth Games 2025
The Asian Youth Games 2025, held in Manama, Bahrain, saw a thrilling run from the Indian athletes, setting up their best-ever finishing record at the 2025 edition with a tally of 48 Medals in total. At the end of the tournament, India finished at no. 6 sixth place, including 13 gold, 18 silver, and 17 bronze medals. On the final day of the tournament, India added seven gold medals.
India’s strongest showcase came from combat, including four gold medals in boxing, three each in wrestling, and beach wrestling. In addition to that, the two kabaddi teams of India secured gold medals. Preetishmita Bhoi added a gold medal in weightlifting while setting a new Youth World record. In athletics, India secured nine medals, with one in swimming.
A total of 222 Indian athletes were competing at the Asian Youth Games, which came to a conclusion on October 31, 2025.
