Aishwarya Pissay Clinches 12th National Rally Title, Extends Record with Sixth Straight Win

Indian motorsport star Aishwarya Pissay bagged her 12th National Rally Racing Championship title in the two-wheeler motorsport event. With the win, she extended her record to six consecutive titles, showcasing her consistency in performance.

The racer from Bengaluru has been impressive in the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), earning her reputation as the most successful women’s rider in the nation, having won three FIM Baja World Championships and 11 National Championships.

Pissay started her career in racing through circuit competitions followed by rally racing, where she quickly built her dominance through her performances gaining early recognition. She was named FMSCI’s Outstanding Woman in Motorsports for two straight years, in 2016 and 2017. Her remarkable feat continued with a series of national championship titles.

Today, Pissay is the first Indian motorsport athlete and the first female from her country to win a world title after winning the 2019 FIM Bajas World Cup. Her success in national-level events earned her several titles including victories in both road racing and rally formats. She is the first Indian woman to win seven FMSCI national titles.

The Indian racer has been remarkable in recent years. She represented India in the FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), one of the world’s toughest rally events. Last year in 2025 at the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, she became the first Indian and Asian woman to win the Rally2 Women’s class even after finishing in No. 27 overall. She is completing a 2,000-kilometre race across Portugal and Spain.

In addition to that, she also became the first Asian woman to compete at Rallye du Maroc, where she won a silver medal. Having competed across several international tournaments so far, Pissay has three world championship medal wins in two-wheeler rally racing, the first Indian rider to secure that mark.

Besides her international exposure, she continues to dominate in domestic events by competing at the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India championship.

Pissay is moving ahead in preparation for the Dakar 2027, one of the world’s iconic racing rallies, to become the first Indian woman to compete and finish on two wheels. The Dakar Rally held from January 2 to 16, 2027, served as part of the FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship.
