The Ultimate Table Tennis Season 7 player auction was held on Tuesday, April 28. The top pick of the event was Bernadette Szocs. The auction saw big names with franchises going all out to claim on proven and emerging stars. At the UTT auction the players have signed contracts with the league promoters for an undisclosed amount. The seventh edition of UTT will be played in Panaji, Goa, from July 9 to 26.
Meanwhile, the highest bid for Szocs was made by Dempo Goa Challengers who acquired her for 40 lakh tokens. After Szocs, Diya Chitale became the highest-valued Indian player for the second successive year, after joining the PBG Pune Jaguars for 37.4 lakh tokens. Meanwhile, her mixed doubles partner, Manush Shah was picked by U Mumba TT for 37.2 lakh.
Debutants UP Prometheans went big while pairing Manav Thakkar (36 lakh) with two-time league MVP Yangzi Liu (32 lakh).
Meanwhile, fifteen-year-old Divyanshi Bhowmick was picked by Dabang Delhi. She was the youngest-ever signing at the auction. Syndrela Das was added to Goa’s squad.
