After five days of thriller and over 80 world-class boxers in participation, the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 held in Greater Noida, India, the home nation topped the medals table with 20 medals including nine golds, six silvers and five bronze. Uzbekistan finished at No. 2 with four gold medals.

On November 19, the finale was action-packed with India getting three women winners in different categories. In 48 kg it was world champion Minakshi Hooda. Hooda defeated Uzbekistan’s Fozilova Farzona by 5-0 in a split decision to give India its first gold. In addition to that Nikhat Zareen won gold in 51 kg after dominating Chinese Taipei’s Yi-Xuan Guo by 5-0. India’s reigning world champion, Jaismine Lamboria, beat Wu Shih-yi in the 57 kg event by 4-1.
In the women’s 54 kg category, Preeti Pawar won against Italy’s Sirine Charaabi, a world championship bronze medal winner. Parveen Hooda edged over Japan’s Ayaka Taguchi by a 3-2 to win the women’s 60 kg title. On the other hand, in the women’s 70 kg, Arundhati Choudhary finished with gold after defeating Uzbekistan’s boxer Aziza Zokirova. Nupur Sheoran won gold in 80 +kg.
In the women’s 80 kg final match, Pooja Rani lost to Poland’s reigning world champion Agata Kaczmarska settling for a silver medal.
Meanwhile, India’s men’s boxers settled for four silver medals. Jadumani Singh fell against Uzbekistan’s Asilbek Jalilov in the 50 kg final by 4-1. On the other hand, it was Pawan Bartwal who lost to Samandar Olimov in the 55 kg division while Abhinash Jamwal lost his gold medal in the 65 kg category to Japan’s Shion Nishiyama. In the 80 kg category, England’s World Cup defending champion Shittu Oladimeji defeated Ankush Phangal.
However, Sachin Siwach defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Seiitbek uulu Munarbek by 5-0 to win the men’s 60 kg title. Hitesh Gulia had to battle out strong against Kazakh pugilist Mursal Nurbek in the 70 kg gold medal match which he won by 3-2. Narender Berwal lost his +90 kg men’s final match to Uzbekistan’s Khalimjon Mamasoliev.
Uzbekistan’s men boxers levelled the duels match through victories of Jalilov Asilbek in 50 kg, Olimov Samandar in 55 kg and Mamasoliev Khalimjon 90 + kg.
England won more than one game in the finals including victories from Oladimeji Shittu in 80 kg and Isaac Okoh in 90+ kg. Ending the event with one gold medal each were Australia, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan and Poland.
