But the team fell short in their quarterfinals match against second seed Turkiye. They lost by a score of 4-5 in a shoot-off. India scored 25, while Turkiye got 29.

Meanwhile, veteran Deepika Kumari lost her second round match to France’s Caroline Lopez in a shoot-off, while Ankita Bhakat, Simranjeet and Kumkum made it to the round of 32.

On the other hand, the Indian men’s recurve team of Yashdeep Bhoge, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Tarundeep Rai were knocked out in the first round after losing in straight sets to Spain.

In the recurve mixed team event, the duo of Kumkum and Dhiraj fell to Brazil by 3-5 in the pre-quarterfinals. The pair had the early lead in the match by 3-1 but felt short of a win. Meanwhile, in the compound mixed team event, Ojas Deotale and Pragati advanced to the bronze medal match after losing to top-seeded Denmark in the semifinals by 149-157.

Earlier in the day, India had a good start after winning the first two matches against Chinese Taipei and Turkiye. They, however, missed a chance to make it to the finals. But hopes remain as they play for the bronze medal against the USA.
